I’ve been evaluating my daughters clothing, we bought her some things to grow into back when we were in the states and Thrift Stores were plentiful. So I thought that I could do some repairs and improvements and give her little wardrobe more of a boutique feel.

oh my goodness! so adorable
Cara, this dress is SO chic and designer-looking, and the fabric has a marvelous vintage look and feel.
My children — both are boys — are now grown, and it’s been years since I’ve sewn for them. When they were small, I would recycle yummy-soft corduroy fabric from adult-sized jumpers and dresses to make overalls for the boys. Sometimes I put an elastic casing at the ankle (which allowed for longer pant legs and more months of wear while they grew). Other times, I would add printed flannel cuffs to the bottom of the legs, either for style or just to lengthen the pants.
Of course it would work for girls, too, and you could embellish them in dozens of different ways. A pair of adult corduroy pants has more than enough fabric to cut all the needed pieces for overalls in infant and toddler sizes.
I’ve added your blog to my Inspirations list, and look forward to many more visits.
