Ok, so I had enough of this little piece of fabric to make 4 tiny little squares… I love this fabric so much, I did a few little peek-a-boo squares with some netting and then added a few rosebuds, I wish I had more of this fabric. Oh well, this is the downside of working with found or recycled materials – once the sometimes small piece is used up that’s it – time to move on.

I’ve got boutique visits going on… more of that to come! Wouldn’t it be exciting if they loved my stuff and were interested in helping me pay off my student loans??? What a dream… A friend got me the opportunities and I was really inspired when I wrote up my letter of introduction. I’ve also had a lot of traffic this week, and many warm fuzzy comments from people at the last show and here at the site. I am flying pretty high these days, thank you all who’ve commented or sent me e-mails.

So now you’re wondering what the one step backward is, well we’ve had the flu for about a week now, every single one of us and I was so happy and excited to get dressed and get the girls ready and go to Borders you just can’t believe. I wandered around for over an hour, gathered up a stack of arty magazines and a couple of bargain books and found the funniest little book on Peeps (you know those marshmellow treats). We didn’t end up buying anything, I’m so cheap it makes me giggle… but it was nice to see the sky and then it was nice to get back home.

I’ve been shopping on Etsy today and did some specific searches for folks doing recycled crafts. I came across a few recycling artist with some really fun ideas. I love these crafts using reclaimed, repurposed soda cans.
This picture is from LostAndFoundObjects2‘s store on Etsy. I love the pop art feel of this these earrings, and what a great and economical recycling craft. She even has some really cute Valentines themed jewelry. I also had the fun of trying to guess what type of pop can she used.

I also loved the recycled bracelets and necklaces at MadefromtheHeart‘s Etsy store. The pieces in her store are also made from recycled aluminum cans, I love the rounded edges of her charm bracelets.
